50’s イギリス軍RASC(Royal Army Service Corps) ヴィンテージキャンバストートバッグIND1362

50’sイギリス軍RASC(Royal Army Service Corps)ヴィンテージキャンバスを解体、再構築したバックになります。
古い物で汚れなどが目立ちますが、歴史を感じさせてくれる鞄になります。こちらの鞄に手書きされている文字で”EMPIRE FOWEY”の文字がありますが、EMPIRE FOWEYというのは1950年代にかけてイギリス・サウスハンプトンからシンガポール及び極東地域に運行していた船で、1960年にはパキスタンに払い下げられ、1976年にその役目を終えた船となります。
こちらの鞄は香港からイギリスに帰る時に船室に積み込まれたものと推測できます。逆に下記はイギリスからシンガポールに向かう船の船室に積み込まれたものかと思われます。

同じ航路を辿り、同じ船室に積み込まれていたと聞くだけでロマンを感じずにはいられません。

ホックにはLift the Dotを使用しております。多少開け閉めにコツがいるので、こちらの動画を参考にして頂けたらと思います。

持ち手にはイタリアンベジタブルタンニングレザーを使用。幅18mm厚み3.5mm程あります。
補修痕、ステッチ痕などありますが、今後も末長く使って頂けると思いますので、古着好きな方、ヴィンテージファンの方如何でしょか？

50’s British Army RASC(Royal Army Service Corps) vintage canvas bag.
The bag is old and has some stains and dirt on it, but it is a bag that gives you a sense of history. EMPIRE FOWEY was a ship that operated from Southampton, England to Singapore and the Far East during the 1950’s. In 1960, the ship was sold to Pakistan, and in 1976, the ship’s role ended. In 1960, the ship was sold to Pakistan, and in 1976, its service was terminated.
It is assumed that this bag was loaded into the cabin on the return trip from Hong Kong to the UK. On the other hand, the following bag was probably loaded in the cabin of a ship from England to Singapore.

Handle : 3.7mm thick 15mm wide British vegetable tanning bridle leather.
Pocket : Same canvas as body
Rivet :reinforced handle with copper rivets
Fabric from the UK, sewing in Japan.
